Nine businesses across Laois have been nominated in the Chapter 1 Hair and Beauty Awards, recognising best in the hair and beauty industry in Ireland.
Kilminchy Hair Design, Portlaoise has been nominated for the converted Hairdressers of the year award. Portlaoise's Iris Hand & Foot Spa is in the running for Nail Salon of the Year while FOXY Nails & Spa, Portlaoise is up for Nail Technician of the Year.
Timahoe's Skin Deep Beauty Salon and Portlaoise's Emerald Beauty & Spa are both up for Beauty Salon Excellence of the Year. Theory Hair Studio, Killenard has been nominated for Hair Studio Excellence of the Year and Stylebar Portlaoise is nominated for Local Hair Salon of the Year.
Bankz Hair & Beauty in Portlaoise and Skin Deep Beauty Salon, Timahoe are both nominated for Local Beauty Salon of the Year.
The awards will acknowledge the hard work, dedication, creativity, and customer service of the talented individuals and businesses that operate in the industry. The winners will be announced at the prestigious awards ceremony that will take place on October 12 at the Park View Hotel.
Now in their 8th year, the awards aim to showcase the best hair salons, stylists, barbershops, extensions specialists, and bridal experts amongst others in Ireland that exhibit excellence and professionalism in their craft.

Oceanic Awards finalists are selected in a few different ways. There is no fee and anyone can enter as long they fit the criteria of the awards including being operational for a minimum of 12 months. Nominations opened to the public via online platforms and social media, allowing customers and communities to put forward the establishments they love most. Alongside these public submissions, the team at Oceanic Awards draw on their industry knowledge to directly recognise standout businesses and individuals who exemplify excellence in their field. Voting will remain open until one week prior to the event.
