Francis (Frank) Brady, Lisrhatigan, Coolarty, Edgeworthstown, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness borne with great dignity and courage on Friday, March 20, 2026 of Francis (Frank) Brady, Lisrhatigan, Coolarty, Edgeworthstown, Longford. 

Pre-deceased by his parents Francis and Marcella. Frank will be sadly missed and always remembered by his sisters Ann and Teresa, relatives, many good friends and neighbours. May He Rest In Peace. 

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home Barrack Street, Granard (N39 AX97) on Sunday, March 22 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal to St James’s Church Clonbroney on Monday, March 23 for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by Cremation service at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan at 2pm.House strictly private please. 

Ann and Teresa would like to thank all those who supported Frank over the years and especially recently during his illness.

Fr Oliver O'Reilly, Arva, Cavan / Leitrim / Meath / Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of his family and the staff of the Cherry Ward, Connolly Hospital and St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, on Saturday, March 21, 2026 of Fr Oliver O'Reilly, Arva, Cavan / Leitrim / Meath / Longford and formerly of Cloncose, Cornafean, Co Cavan. 

Fr Oliver is predeceased by his parents, John P. and Rose, sister Angela Masterson, his brother Seamus, niece Brenda and grandniece Kiera Aoife.

Deeply mourned by his sister Rosemary Nolan (Matt), his brothers Sean (Mary), Frank (Anne) and P.J. (Barbara), his sister-in-law Dympna, his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, Bishop Most Rev Martin Hayes and Bishop Emeritus Leo O’Reilly, his brother priests, parishioners of Killeshandra and Arva, people of the Diocese of Kilmore, St. Patrick's Missionary Society, Kiltegan Fathers, his relatives and his many friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, H12 RF78, on Monday evening, March 23 from 5.30pm until 9pm. Removal on Tuesday morning, March 24 at 11.15am to the Sacred Heart Church, Arva to arrive for concelebrated Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the family plot at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea. Requiescat in Pace. Family flowers only, donations if desired to St Francis Hospice HERE.

John Lawlor, Rathcline, Lanesboro, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar after a short illness on Friday, March 20, 2026 of John Lawlor, Rathcline, Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly of Dominic Street, Portumna, Co Galway

Predeceased by his brothers Eamon and Gerard and his sister Bridie. John is deeply regretted by his loving wife Una (nee Murphy), son's Shane, Ronan, Odhran and Evin, his daughter's in law Coleen, Carmel, Tara and Tara, his loving grandchildren, Cormac, Niamh, Imogen, Oisin and Isaac. His brother's Noel and Brendan, his sister's Kathleen and Marie, his sister-in-law Sheila, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends. May John Rest in Peace. 

Reposing at his home, Rathcline, Lanesboro, Co Longford (N39 TE52) from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, March 22. Requiem Mass on Monday, March 23 at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Lanesboro, (N39 TN99) burial afterwards in Clonbonny Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE

Sr Rose Brady, Chapelizod, Dublin / Granard, Longford

The death occurred in her 93rd year, in the loving care of the Community and Staff at Mount Sackville Nursing Home, Chapelizod, Dublin on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 of Sr Rose Brady, Mount Sackville, Chapelizod and Granard, Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents James and Rose, brothers Paddy, Janey and Johnny, sister Annie, sisters -in- law: Helen and Maureen and brother in law, Sonny. Deeply regretted by her loving Community in Mount Sackville, her brothers :Jimmy, Michael and Joe. Sisters- in- law: Rose, Betty, Roseanne and Ann. Devoted nieces, nephews, grand nephews, grandnieces, great grand nephews and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Mass will take place in Mount Sackville Chapel at 11.30am on Monday, March 23, followed by burial in the Convent Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed here May she rest in peace.

Thomas Devlin, St Bridget's Terrace, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 of Thomas Devlin, St Bridget's Terrace, Longford Town, Longford. 

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Mary, daughter Joan and by his son Martin. Thomas will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughter Marie Clyne, son Gary, daughters-in-law Mary and Eileen, son-in-law Joseph, grandchildren Ashley, Carl, Luke, Gary, Jamie, Jade, Harvey, Jake, Christopher, Lindsay, Ryan and Aaron, his 21 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace. 

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, March 22 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, March 23 in St Mel’s Cathedral at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. Paul Hughes, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred  peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026 of Paul Hughes, Toronto, Canada and formerly of Dublin Street and Brickeens, Longford. 

Pre-deceased by his father Mike, mother Mollie and by his brothers-in-law John Mike McCarthy, Frank Seyers and Séamus Tiernan.

Paul will be missed and forever remembered by his wife Peg, sons David, sister Mary Tiernan (Longford), daughter-in-law Becca, nephews Damian, nieces Gillian, Carmel and Laura, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins and many friends both in Longford and Toronto. May the road rise up to meet you May the wind always be at your back

Marion O'Reilly (née Clarke), Bunnoe, Cavan / Kilcogy, Cavan

The death occurred on Thursday, March 19, 2026 of Marion O’Reilly (née Clarke), Scee, Lisboduff, Cootehill, Co Cavan and formerly of Kilcogy, Co Cavan. Predeceased by her husband Peter, parents Charlie & Molly and brothers Charles and Patsy.

Sadly missed by her brother James, and her sisters in law Kathleen, Chrissie Clarke and Gretta O’Reilly, nephews, nieces, relatives, cousins, neighbours and friends. May she Rest in Peace.

Reposing this Saturday evening at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan from 4pm to 6pm. Funeral cortège to arrive at St Mary's Church, Bunnoe for requiem mass on Sunday, March 22 at 11am, which can be viewed live HERE, with cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 1.30pm. House strictly private please.

Mary Patricia (Pat) Brady (née Breslin), Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully, in her 90th year, at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 of Mary Patricia (Pat) Brady (née Breslin), Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Cavan and formerly The Glenties, Donegal.

Predeceased by her parents, James and Bridget, brothers Bernard and Neily.

Pat will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken family, husband John, sons Johnny, James and Neil, her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Joan, Evelyn, Una and Caroline, daughters-in-law Brenda and Carmel, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews relatives and a large circle of friends and neighbours.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace. House private please.

Eugene Glynn, Irishtown, Ballynacargy, Westmeath

The death occurred suddenly at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Thursday, March 19, 2026 of Eugene Glynn, Irishtown, Ballynacargy, Co Westmeath. 

Predeceased by his baby son Laurence Christopher, his parents Christopher and Elizabeth and his brother Brian. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife Anne, daughter Karen, son Bernard, cherished grand-children Leo, and Isla, his son-in-law Stephen, Bernard's partner Aoife, brothers, Aidan, Jim, Vinnie and Barry, sisters Kay, Mary, Helene and Roísin, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, cousins and good friends. May Eugene rest in peace.

Reposing at Shaws Funeral Home, Bishop's Gate Street, Mullingar on Sunday, March 22 from 4pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, March 23 at 11am in the Church of the Nativity, Ballynacargy, followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery. No flowers please.

Martina McNulty (née O’Rourke), Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 1, 2026 of Martina McNulty (nee O’Rourke), Richmond, Surrey, UK and formerly of The Abbey, Kenagh, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Jack and Maeve O’Rourke and her brothers Dermott and Donal. Martina will be deeply missed by her husband David and her children Sonya, Elisa, Natalie, Lucy and Tim, her siblings Pat and Maeve and her many grandchildren. Martina was a dearly beloved member of her family and will be much missed by many.

Martina will lie in repose at her home in Richmond from 6 to 8pm on Monday, March 23. Martina’s Funeral will be held at St. Elizabeth of Portugal Church at 11am on Tuesday, March 24.

Noel (Michael) McKiernan, Owen Roe Terrace, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 of Noel (Michael) McKiernan, Rugeley Staffordshire UK and formerly of Owen Roe Terrace, Cavan.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret, infant daughter Marie, parents James and Maisie and brothers Jim (Australia) and Mattie (UK). 

Noel is survived by his sons Martin (Carolyn) and son William, Colin (Michelle) and sons Gary and Terry, all UK.

Sisters Rosaleen Callaghan (Newport, Co. Mayo), Maura Walsh (Granard, Co. Longford), Dympna Molloy, (Swellan Cavan), Una Graham (Glenlara Cavan) and Seán (Drumcrave, Cavan). Sisters-in-law Jean McKiernan (Australia) Jackie Mc Kiernan (Australia) and Mary Mc Kiernan (UK), his adored nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Noel's Requiem Mass will be on Thursday,  April 9 in St. Joseph's Church, Rugeley, Staffordshire WS15 2EH followed by cremation at Stafford Crematorium ST16 3AQ. "Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam".
