Play about Oscar Wilde on way to An Táin Arts Centre in Dundalk

Will Govan plays an exiled Oscar Wilde in Work is the Curse of the Drinking Classes

The perfect evening out for any Oscar Wilde fan, drawing from the life and works of one of Ireland’s most famous poets, Work is the Curse of the Drinking Classes comes to An Táin Arts Centre on Friday 5th May at 8pm.

Set in Paris in 1898, Will Govan, director of The Moth Magazine which publishes international arts and literature magazines, plays an exiled Oscar Wilde looking back on his extraordinarily colourful life and ruminating on love, fame, family and misfortune with his infamous wit and irreverence in this hilarious but ultimately tragic story of a life.

Director of An Táin Arts Centre, Paul Hayes says “Along with Shaw, Wilde is probably the most quotable writer Ireland has ever produced. Find out why in this fine production”.

Tickets are €16 / €14 (plus €1.50 booking fee per ticket) and can be purchased from An Táin Arts Centre’s Box Office on Crowe Street, over the phone on 042 9332332 or online at www.antain.ie
