ALERT: Investigation launched after man dies in suspected stabbing near playground

Gardaí have launched an investigation following the death of a man following a suspected stabbing incident in County Wicklow.

The alarm was raised shortly after 6pm on Sunday and emergency services responded to an incident on Boghall Road, Bray where a man was found with serious injuries and unresponsive.

The man, aged in his 30s, was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Gardai say the scene is currently preserved for forensic and technical examination and that the Office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner have been notified. The services of the Garda Technical Bureau have also been requested.

A major investigation has been launched and a senior investigating officer has been appointed. An incident room has also been established at Bray garda station.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 01-6665300 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Gardai say the investigation is ongoing and that further updates will be issued later this Monday.
