'Worst experience'- Irish man devastated as livelihood destroyed amid significant fire outbreaks

Several significant fires broke out and spread across West Roscommon recently

Massive fires broke out in west Roscommon on Sunday afternoon last which saw plumes of smoke, up to 1,000 feet in height, into the skies and at least 60 acres of forestry destroyed.

According to Shannonside, several fires broke out throughout the area, and a number of homes were evacuated as a precaution.

"Several acres of forestry have been destroyed, and gardai and fire services were hard at work to control the situation. Dozens of livestock are being moved to safety", according to Shannonside.

A video shared by Roscommonherald.ie shows the massive fire outbreak below.

An Irish man lost 70 acres of his bog land, as he watched the fires engulf his livelihood from his home where he lived alone, he told Shannonside in an interview.
