A truck driver in Cavan is facing serious consequences after being spotted by gardaí committing a dangerous offence.
On Sunday morning, June 29, officers from the Cavan Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a standard checkpoint when they came across a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) travelling down the road.
The HGV was pulled over by authorities on the N3 between Cavan and Virginia.

According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in the county, they said, "The driver had been holding the mobile phone and texting whilst driving."
As a result of this, a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued to the driver.
