A motorcyclist is facing major consequences after gardaí spotted them doing something unthinkable while travelling along a busy road.
The Naas Roads Policing Unit in Kildare were patrolling along the M7 when they observed a motorcyclist who, in their own words, was "dangerously weaving through traffic."
Upon stopping the rider, gardaí discovered that this person was not even qualified to drive, only holding a Leaner Permit.
Along with this, the motorcycle itself also had no insurance and was seized.
Court proceedings for the rider will follow, where penalties may include a fine of up to €5000, a two year disqualification from driving or even up to six months imprisonment.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána in Kildare said, "Insurance is mandatory. Stay safe and legal on our roads."
