RIP: Funeral details announced for two men who died in horror collision on Monday

Paul Conway from Louth and Wesley (Wes) O'Reilly from Dublin both died following the three car crash in Meath

RIP: Funeral details announced for two men who died in horror collision on Monday

The two men that died following a tragic road accident on Monday morning have been described as a "pure gentleman" and "a great friend".

Paul Conway from Tallanstown in county Louth and Wesley (Wes) O'Reilly from Loughshinny in county Dublin both died following the fatal three car collision that occurred on the R132 in Gormanstown, county Meath at approximately 6.30am on Monday morning.

Paul Conway, who was in his 50s, was the driver of the Bus Éireann bus that was involved in the collision while Wesley O'Reilly, in his late 40s, was the driver of the lorry also involved in the crash.

A female driver of the car, aged in her 40’s, was conveyed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The female passenger of the car, aged in her teens, was initially conveyed to our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

A number of people were also been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Funeral details have now been announced for both men, who tragically leave their heartbroken families behind.

Paul Conway is dearly loved and sadly missed by his beloved wife Fiona, his heartbroken children, Ciara, Jamie, Amy, Zoe, Holly, Sophie and Hannah, also their partners Evan, Laura and Thomas, his loving mother Margaret, his brothers and sister, his mother-in-law Brigid, his father-in-law Michael, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He is predeceased by his father Manus, his goddaughter Kayleigh, his brother Ciarán, his brother-in-law Michael and nephew Peter-James.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie from those who knew and fondly remembered Paul, with one mourner writing,

"Deepest condolences to all the conway family and friends on the sad passing of Paul at this difficult time .As a former work colleague I found paul as a pure gentleman and very well respected colleague. Rest in peace Paul."

While another wrote,

"Deepest sympathy to Fiona and all Paul's family and friends at this tragic time, an absolute gentleman and friend who would never pass you and a pleasure to work with. May he Rest in Peace."

Funeral details will be announced in due course on RIP.ie.

Wesley (Wes) O'Reilly is predeceased by his dad Brendan his brother Bren and his sister Margaret.

Wes will be sadly missed by his loving family, mother Noeleen, his loving wife Nina, daughters Kirsty and Cody, son Ross, grandson Mason, his children's partners Craig, Mikes and Ava, sisters, brothers in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his home on Sunday evening November 30 from 3pm to 5pm. House is requested private outside of these times.

Funeral mass will take place on Monday morning at 10am in St Maur's Church, Rush followed by burial in Whitestown Cemetery.

Touching condolences were left on RIP.ie from those who knew Wes, with one mourner writing,

"We were saddened to hear of Wes’s passing. Thinking of you Nina and family. Such a nicer man you could not meet always smiling and happy. Look after them Wes from above and help them through this horrific time. May you rest in peace x"

While another wrote,

"So sad to hear the news of the passing of Wes had the pleasure of working with Wes and so proud to call him my friend thinking of all his family and friends in this sad time rest easy pal."

Gardaí are still appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling on the R132, at Gormanstown, Co. Meath, between 5.45am and 6.45am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
