Clonmel Golf Club’s Golfer of the Year for 2023 is 15 year-old Joe Hawkins.

Joe capped off a brilliant 2023 when claiming the Semiton Pavilion Cup in fine style in late October winning the competition with 38 points.

Previous highlights during the year included victories in the Spring Medal and being leading scorer in the Vice Captain’s Prize, all Golfer of the Year counting events.

Joe, a third year student at Clonmel's Raheen College, also represented Clonmel Golf Club on the Junior Cup team and was also a member of the Jimmy Bruen team which was narrowly beaten in the All Ireland semi-final at Westport Golf Club in September.

This very promising young golfer with a bright future also played a leading role in junior golf, representing Clonmel Golf Club on the Fred Daly and Junior Foursomes teams.

So deserved congratulations to Joe and best wishes into the future in golf.
