Issues affecting Tipperary and Ireland would be on the table for discussion

The Sixth Year students at Loreto Secondary School in Clonmel have invited Jim Gavin, Heather Humpries and Catherine Connolly to attend a public Presidential debate/Q&A session at the school in October.

In a statement, the students say "Our aim is to provide a platform for all Presidential candidates to present their vision, answer questions from the students and engage in respectful discussion on issues affecting both Tipperary and Ireland as a whole.

"We expect attendance from students, staff, local groups, media, local public representatives and members of the public.

"Would you be willing to accept this invitation? If so, we are more than happy to work with your campaign schedule and plan this event when you are in Tipperary.

"Thank you for your consideration. We believe this debate would be of great interest to our students, enrich public discourse and help voters make informed decisions.

"Please let me know if you would like further details or to propose alternative dates".

The students say they would be honoured if the candidates accepted their invitation.
