A Burnfoot-based engineering company is set to add around 100 new jobs over the next 18 months

A Donegal-based engineering company is set to add around 100 new jobs over the next 18 months.
E+I Engineering in Burnfoot is expanding its manufacturing facility and will hire engineers, sales staff and production operatives, among other roles.
Philip O'Doherty, founder and managing director, told the Sunday Independent that the company was looking at potential acquisitions in the United States.
"We're certainly looking at opportunities in the USA over the next year to 18 months - acquisitions either of technology or of companies," he said.
"Depending on how large the cheque was, we could certainly do a medium-sized acquisition without any outside capital, but we'd have to look at outside capital if it was a larger acquisition."
He said that the proposals for physical expansion are currently being examined by the planning authorities.
PwC was engaged to act on the company's behalf last year after an approach from a potential buyer.
However, O'Doherty says he has no interest in selling the business.
Around 1,2000 are currently employed worldwide in the company.
