A young woman has issued a warning about a widely-used ATM in the northwest after her card was hacked.

Holly Ní Mhuirí was shocked when a hacker spent £580 illegally in Marks and Spencer.

The incident occurred when she used the ATM beside Oasis Bar at Letterkenny shopping Centre, used by locals and visitors from over the border.

"The Ulster Bank fraud team notified me and cancelled my card immediately," she said.

She warned shoppers against using the ATM and told them to be careful when using their cards around Letterkenny.

Gardai have appealed to anybody who notices anything suspicious at ATM machines to contact them immediately.
