SoS Altnagelvin has launched the 'Message to the Minister' initiative, inviting patients who have been through the hospital’s “stretched A&E” to send in a short video or testimony about their experience.

SoS Altnagelvin, the patient-led campaign group working to protect services in the local hospital and fight for an upgrade to Altnagelvin Area Hospital’s Accident and Emergency department, has launched the 'Message to the Minister' initiative.

The iniative is inviting patients who have been through our stretched A&E to send in a short video or testimony about their experience.

An SoS Altnagelvin spokesperson said: "We want to reach out to all former or current patients of Altnagelvin who have, despite the fantastic efforts of our healthcare staff, sat for far too long in A&E, had difficulty in accessing basic services like a bathroom or witnessed the impacts of the inadequate space in the Department.

You can send a message of a 1-minute video to the SoS Altnagelvin Facebook page, which we will publicise and send to the Minister of Health, Robbie Butler MLA, as part of the campaign to have essential funds allocated to build a new fit-for-purpose A&E for the needs of all those who need it in the North West."
