County Derry restaurant named amongst the best new restaurants in the UK

Derry is full of history, culture, and welcoming locals with plenty to do, giving many reasons to visit the city. But one scene that is growing in Derry is food. 

As the culinary world comes to Derry, the city now has restaurants selling the best Irish and world cuisine. 

And the city is now getting recognised for this, with one Derry restaurant being named among the UK’s best new restaurants to open in 2023.

The inaugural edition of The UK’s Top New Restaurant Awards revealed the very best openings from 2023. Experts at Condé Nast Traveller searched the country.

One Derry restaurant was named among the UK’s best new restaurants, Lir.

Becoming a firm local favourite the restaurant offers up the best, locally sourced seafood that is cooked to perfection.

It is a sustainably-focused seafood restaurant that opened in Coleraine, County Derry, last year.
