Derry Court: Accused remanded in custody on charges relating to arson
Also charged with possessing a knife in Bishop Street
A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court today on a series of charges relating to arson.
Christopher Villa (33) of Ballyarnett Village in Derry appeared charged with arson to bins belonging to Derry City and Strabane Council on July 10.
He was also charged with possessing a knife in Bishop Street on the same date and a charge of criminal damage to a police vehicle again on July 10.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that there was no address so there would be no bail application.
He asked for the case to be adjourned to allow the prosecution services time to decide how to proceed.
Villa was remanded in custody to appear again on August 3.
