The following deaths have occurred:-
Dean Averill, 78 Greenvale Park, Magherafelt
The death has taken place of Dean Averill, 14th October 1m2023, (suddenly), 78 Greenvale Park, Magherafelt, dearly loved and devoted son of Beanie, loving brother of Simone and also a much loved nephew and cousin. Funeral arrangements later. Always loved and remembered by his mother, sister and the entire family circle.
James Irvine, 11 Clareen Drive, Strathfoyle, Derry
The death has taken place of James Irvine, 13th October 2023, beloved husband of Bridget, 11 Clareen Drive, Strathfoyle, loving father of Edel, Julie, Kieran, Derwin and Lynn, father-in-law of Ady, Alan, Denise and Shabanna, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather and dear brother of Myra. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Monday at 12.30am for 1o’clock Requiem Mass in St Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Strathfoyle. Interment afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Alzheimer’s Society, Sevenoaks, Waterside, Derry, BT47 6AL. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Edward Kennedy, Derry
The death has taken place of Edward Kennedy, 11th October 2023, peacefully at home, beloved son of the late Charlie and Maggieanne, formerly of Dunmore Gardens, loving brother of Joey, George, Johnny, Barney, Charlie, Margaret, Mary, Jimmy, Annie, Sammy and the late Susie, Patsy, Danny and Sadie and a much loved brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle. His remains will be reposing in his brother’s home, 76 Sandbank Park. Funeral from there on Monday at 9.25am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Eugene’s Cathedral. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Gerry McGoldrick, 33 Westland Avenue, Derry
The death has taken place of Gerry McGoldrick, 14th October 2023, peacefully at Foyle Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, beloved husband of Lorraine, loving father of Joseph, Garret, Celia and Caroline, a dear and loving grandfather and brother. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle and his many friends. Funeral leaving his home, 33 Westland Avenue on Wednesday, 18th October at 11.20am to St. Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 12.00noon. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if wished, to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry. Gerry’s wake will commence at 12.00noon today (Monday). Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. Michael (Mickey) McKenna, 84 Dellwood, Eglinton
The death has occurred of the late Michael (Mickey) McKenna, 14th October 2023, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Bridget, loving father of Paschal and Christopher, father-in-law of Julie-Dawn and Katie, devoted grandfather of Madison, Eliza and Jamie and dear brother of Rosaleen, Francey and the late Kathleen, Mia, Annie, Paddy and Sean. His remains will be reposing in his home, 84 Dellwood, Eglinton. House restricted to family and close friends only please. Funeral from there on Monday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
