Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Gertrude (Gertie) Armstrong (née Pitts), 1 Hunter's Park, Bellaghy
The death has taken place of Gertrude (Gertie) Armstrong (née Pitts), 8th January 2023, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital, 1 Hunter's Park, Bellaghy, dearly loved mother of Joseph and the late Philip and Heather, a loving mother-in-law of Bernie, devoted grandmother of Kerryann, Natalie and Leon, great grandmother of Noah, Ella and Archie, dearest sister of Robina, Alice, Annie, Jeannie, Minnie, Samuel, Bertie and the late Robert and William and a precious aunt. House private. The wake will commence in her own home on Tuesday, 10th January from 12noon - 8.00pm (for family and friends). Funeral service in Lecumpher Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, 11th January at 12.45pm (approx.), followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Forever loved and sadly missed by the entire family circle.
Eugene Doherty, New York (formally of Derry)
The death has taken place of Eugene Doherty, 7th January 2023, (peacefully) at New York Presbyterian Hospital, NYC. Formally of Sheelin Park, Ballymagroarty. Husband of Sandra and dad to Emerson. Beloved son of Joe and Bridgeen. A dear brother of Joseph, Eddie, Fintan, Brian, Jennifer and John. He will be sadly missed by his family and all his friends. Funeral arrangements to follow. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Knock pray for him.
Joe Dorman, 10 Hazeldene Avenue, Magherafelt
The death has taken place of Joe Dorman (Magherafelt), 7th January 2023, late of 10 Hazeldene Avenue, beloved partner of Ciara and loving father of Michéal, grandfather of Don and Ivy, son of the late Desmond and Irene and dear brother of Anne-Marie, Michael and Teresa McGlone and brother in law of Jayne and Henry. Funeral arrangements later. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his partner, son, grandchildren, brother, sisters, sister in law, brother in law, nephews, nieces and extended family circle. Margaret (Peggy) Feeney (née O'Donnell), 16 Malin Gardens, Creggan, Derry
The death has occurred of Margaret (Peggy) Feeney (née O'Donnell), 7th January 2023, beloved wife of the late Michael, 16 Malin Gardens, Creggan, loving mother of Ann, Michael, Lily, Carol, Maureen, Rosemary, Pat, Bernadette, Joseph, Sean and the late Jim, Helen, Kay, Maria Goretti and William and a much loved grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Funeral from her home on Tuesday at 11.25am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Creggan. Interment afterwards in the City cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 10.00am.
