Celine Carlin (née Ryan), 66 William Street, Derry
It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Celine Carlin (née Ryan), April 26 2025, peacefully at her home 66 William Street, beloved wife of the late Daniel (Don), loving mother of Michael, Don, Rita, Eamonn and the late Eileen, devoted grandmother of Natalie, Darryl, Daniel, Shane and Angel and great-grandmother of Cora-lee, Rían, Ayda, Aodhan and Faeía, mother-in-law to Jim and Martina, dear daughter of the late Daniel and Rita, cherished sister of Michael, Donna, Annette and the late Dano, Marie, Sean, Rita and Jimmy. Celine will be reposing at her home. Funeral leaving her home on Tuesday, April 29 at 9:30am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for her.
Claire Curran (née Sharkey), 63 Ardnalee, Culmore, Derry
The death has taken place of the late Claire Curran (née Sharkey), April 26 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of the late Gerry, loving mother of Geraldine, Damian, Paul, Gary, Raymond, Doreen, Claire and Brendan, a devoted grandmother and a cherished sister of Desmond, Leo, Damian and the late Billy. Claire will be reposing at her home, 63 Ardnalee, Culmore. Removal leaving her home on Monday, April 28 at 6:00pm to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11.30am. Interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul. Our lady of Lourdes intercede for her.
Paul Kennedy, 74 Sevenoaks, Derry
The death has taken place of Paul Kennedy, April 26 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital. Beloved husband of Phyllis, wonderful father of Alice, much loved brother of Robin, Mina, Irene, Hazel, Val, Issi, and twin brother of Sid, a dear brother-in-law uncle and friend. Paul will be reposing at his home, 74 Sevenoaks. Family time from 10.00pm until 12noon. Funeral from his home on Tuesday at 12.30pm for service in WJ O'Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton at 1o'clock followed by interment in Ballyoan Cemetery. The death has taken place of the late Bernadette McKinney (née Doherty), April 27 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital surrounded by her loving family, beloved wife of Gerard, 72 Sheskin Road, Greysteel, much loved mother of Trevor, Jennifer, Lorna, and Sandra, mother-in-law of Jacqueline, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, daughter of the late Alec and Annie Doherty and dear sister of Mervin, Emma, Daniel, Anna, Kevin and Ignatius. Her remains will be reposing in her son’s home, 72A Sheskin Road, Greysteel from 12noon - 10.00pm on Monday. Funeral from there on Tuesday at 10.20am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers only please. The death has occurred of the late Alexander (Alex) Scott, Called home April 27 2025, (peacefully) at Massereene Manor Private Nursing Home, Antrim, in his 92nd year, dearly beloved husband of Sheila, 85 Annaghmore Road, Castledawson, much loved and devoted daddy of Alma, Marilyn, Elaine and Laureen, dear father-in-law of Robert, Alan, Geoffrey and David, loving granda of Alexandra, Andrew, Lena, Rebekah, Rachel, Luke, Bethany and Abigail, cherished great-granda of Cassia, Susanna, Luke, Nayana, Hunter, Heidi, Jasper and Maya and dearest brother of Margaret and the late Joseph, Betty, Tish and Sadie. It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary (Maisie) Sharkey (née Kerr), peacefully at home on April 26 2025. Late of 55 Violet Street. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late John. Devoted mother of Geraldine, Adrian, Isobel, Paula and the late Marian and Gerard. Dearest mother-in-law of Michelle, Kieran, George and the late Mark. Loving granny of John, Declan, Emmett, Lauren, Ruairi, Shea, Vetuta and Marian. Precious great-granny of Ava. Dearest daughter of the late James and Mary Jane. A much loved sister of the late Francis and Shauney. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Maisie’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 55 Violet Street. Funeral leaving from there on Tuesday, April 29 at 11:30am for 12noon Requiem Mass in St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Wake house will be private from 10.00pm until 11.00am.
