Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Ellen (Iris) Harrigan, 5 Tudor Court, Derry
The death has taken place of Ellen (Iris) Harrigan, 7th April 2023, beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth and John (late of Central Drive, Creggan) dear sister of Angela, Eilish, Michael and the late Anna, Eamon, Roy, Patricia, Shaun, Seamus and Patrick and a much loved aunt and great-aunt. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 5 Tudor Court, from 1pm on Sunday. She will then be removed from there on Monday at 6.15 pm to St Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 10 am. Interment after in the City cemetery. Family time from 11 am to 10 pm. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her. Our Lady of Knock intercede for her. Those who think of her today, a little prayer to Jesus we say.
Deirdre Heaney, 110 Kings Lane, Ballykelly
The death has taken place of Deirdre Heaney, 6th April 2023 at Altnagelvin Hospital. Loving daughter of Billy and the late Joan, a dear sister of Declan and his wife Gail, and a loved aunt of Daryl, Rachel, Amy-Brooke, Jasmine, Mason and Oscar. Wake will be at W.J O'Brien & Son, Eglinton at 7pm on Saturday 8th April. Family and friends are welcome to call at 110 Kings Lane, Ballykelly. Funeral will leave W.J O'Brien & Son on Sunday 9th April at 4pm for interment in Saint Canice's Cemetery, Eglinton. Wilma Kirk (née Wilson), Liswatty Road, Road, Coleraine
The death has occurred of Wilma Kirk (née Wilson), 7th April 2023, (peacefully) at Bohill Care Home, Wilma, late of Liswatty Road, Road, Coleraine. Dearly loved wife of the late William John, much loved mother of Liam and Audrey, and a devoted mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Service of Thanksgiving in Ballywatt Presbyterian Church on Monday at 11 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations if wished to N.I. Jack McCauley, 3 Shandon Park, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Jack McCauley, (peacefully) at his home on 6th April 2023. Late of 3 Shandon Park. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Maureen. Devoted father of Seán, Eimear, Deirdre and Ciarán. A much loved father-in-law of Anne, Steve, Dominic and Michelle. Loving grandad of Méabh, Gráinne, Bébhinn, Lorcán, Cillian, Odhran, Fiachra, Conall, Saibh and Darragh. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Jack's remains will be reposing at his late family home, 3 Shandon Park. Funeral leaving from there on Monday 10th April at 10:20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Patrick's Church, Pennyburn. Tommy McLaughlin, formerly of 39 Broadway, Creggan, Derry
The death has occurred of Tommy McLaughlin, 23rd. December 2022 in Germany, (formerly of 39 Broadway, Creggan). Beloved husband of Marita, loving father of Timothy and David, dear son of the late James and Rita, loving brother of Paddy, Margaret, Danny, Mary and the late John, Jim, Mickey and Kathleen. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church Creggan on Monday 10th April at 10:00 a.m. Interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.
Mina Wood (née O'Hara), 22 Scroggy Road, Limavady
The death has taken place of Mina Wood (née O'Hara), 6th April 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of Howard, loving mother of Stephen and Elizabeth, mother-in-law of Susan and Nigel, devoted grandmother of Dominic, Jessica, Leo and Fiona, dear sister of Dermott and Laureen and sister-in-law of the late Rose. Her remains will repose in her home, 22 Scroggy Road, Limavady on Sunday from 12noon to 8pm. Funeral from there on Monday at 9.40am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Christ The King Church, Limavady. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Mass can be viewed live via the link below. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her. Requiescat in pace.
