Clare Cassidy, 5 Oakfield Road, Derry
The death has taken place of the late Clare Cassidy, November 8 2024, peacefully at Meadowbank Care Home, beloved daughter of Rosanne and the late John, loving sister of Sally, Margaret, John, Roisin, Una, Emmett, Pearse, Colum and Edward, sister-in-law of Ronnie, Gerry, Corinne, Roisin, Siuinin and Nicola and a much loved aunt, great-aunt and loved by all. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 5 Oakfield Road from 11.30am to 9.00pm on Sunday. A service of thanksgiving will take place in River City Church, 87-89 Irish Street, BT47 2DA on Monday at 11o’clock. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family time please on the morning of the funeral from 8.30am to 10.25am. Let not your heart be troubled. John 14:1
Derek Laird, 61 St Canice’s Park, Eglinton
The death has occurred of the late Derek Laird, November 7 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital surrounded by his loving family, beloved husband of Gayle, 61 St Canice’s Park, Eglinton, loving father of Paul, Kym, Iain, Lisa, Aimee and Sarah, cherished son of Annie and the late Ivan, a devoted grandfather and dear brother of Stephanie and Jacqueline. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Monday at 2.30pm for 3o’clock funeral service in Faughanvale Presbyterian Church, Eglinton. A private cremation will take place in Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium at a later date. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. The family request that anyone attending the funeral wear colour and not black as this is a celebration of Derek's life. Family flowers only please. Barry McCafferry, 67 Cromore Gardens, Derry
We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Barry McCafferty, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, surrounded by all of his loving family on November 9 2024. Late of 67 Cromore Gardens and formerly of 20 Nassau Crescent. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Angela. Devoted father of Barry and the late Connor. A much loved father-in-law of Aoife. Loving granda of Maddie and Cían. Dearest son of the late Barry and Lily. A dear son-in-law of the late Paddy and Joyce. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends. Barry’s remains will be reposing at his late residence, 67 Cromore Gardens. Funeral leaving from there on Monday, November 11 at 9:15am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. His remains will be reposing in his sister’s home, 76 Tamnaherin Road, Eglinton. Funeral from there on Monday at 1.30pm for 2o'clock Requiem Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
