Obituaries
The following deaths have occurred:-
Michael Creelman, 1056 Bellany Crescent, Coleraine
The death has taken place of Michael Creelman (Coleraine), 10th January 2023, (peacefully) beloved father of Niall, Michaela (Stevens), Roisin (Mullan), Fergal and Kirsty (Darroch). Son of the late Samuel and Annie and dear brother of Sadie, Delia, Patsy, Una and the late May, Jack, Ethna, Harry and Deirdre. Removal from his late residence, 1056 Bellany Crescent, this evening (Thursday) at 6.40pm to St. Mary’s Church, Dunboe (arriving approx. 7.00pm). Requiem Mass on Friday at 2.00pm followed by interment in adjoining cemetery. St. Pio pray for him. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and entire family circle. Family flowers only please. Bridget Deery (née Gormley), 11 Whitehill Road, Eglinton
The death has taken place of Bridget Deery (née Gormley), 10th January 2023, (peacefully) at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved wife of the late Kevin, loving mother of Carol, Geraldine (McKeever), Eddie, Kevin, June (Duddy), John, Pauline (Proctor), Angela (Williams) and the late Cathal, and a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, daughter of the late Michael and Cassie Gormley (Craigbane) and dear sister of the late Freddie, Mary-Agnes, Mickey and Kathleen (McDonald). Bridget's remains will be reposing at her home, 11 Whitehill Road, Eglinton. Funeral from there on Friday at 11.30am for 12o’clock Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. William (Willie) Hamilton, 12 Messines Park, Derry
The death has occurred of William (Willie) Hamilton, 10th January 2023, beloved husband of Sarah, 12 Messines Park, loving father of Donna, Amanda, Darren, John and Niall, much loved grandfather of Eenna, Darla, Sarah-Beth, Aoife, Aibhlinn, Adam, Niall, Molly, Noah and Charlie, son of the late Margaret and Hubert (St Columb's Wells) and dear brother of the late Hubert, Rev. James, Mary, Jean, Mickey, Ellen (Nellie) and Tillie. Willie's remains are reposing at his home and funeral from there on Friday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. Interment afterwards in the City cemetery. Family time please from 9.00pm to 11.00am. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.
Kevin Kent, 54 Fountain Hill, Waterside, Derry
The death has taken place of Kevin Kent, 11th January 2023, (peacefully) at Foyle Hospice (surrounded by his loving family in his 67th year) much loved dad of Tracey, Claire and Mark, loving father-in-law of David and John, devoted granda of Caoimhe, Jordan, Corey, Kaitlyn, Bobby and angel Charlie. Funeral service in his late home, 54 Fountain Hill, Waterside, on Saturday, 14th January at 12.00noon followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to Foyle Hospice c/o Mrs. Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. Too good in life to be forgotten in death.
Paul McLaughlin, 75 Petrie Way, Derry
The death has taken place of Paul McLaughlin, 11th January 2023, beloved husband of Maureen, 75 Petrie Way, loving father of Stephanie, dear brother of Mary, Josephine, Gregory, Kate, Oonagh and Declan and a much loved uncle. Funeral from his home on Saturday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Convoy, Co Donegal. Joe Pat O’Kane, 150 Hillhead Road, Castledawson
The death has occurred of Joe Pat O’Kane, 10th January 2023, beloved husband of the late Teresa and loving father of Joseph, Maura, Bernadette, Deirdre, Fiona, Cathal and the late Eamonn, son of the late Edward and Mary O’Kane and dear brother of the late Kathleen and Stanislaus. Funeral from his home 150 Hillhead Road, on Friday, 13th January at 10.15am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St. Mary Bellaghy via webcam Webcam – Bellaghy-Ballyscullion Parish (bellaghyparish.com), interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
