The death has taken place of the late Tony Canning, December 10 2024, peacefully at Culmore Manor Care Home, (formerly of Balbane Pass), beloved husband of the late Mary Lou, loving father of Anthony, Martin, Vourneen and Karen and a devoted grandfather, cherished brother of Gerry, Charlie, Ann, Margaret and the late Catherine. Tony will be reposing at his daughter Karen’s home, 20 Hawthorn Grove. Funeral leaving 20 Hawthorn Grove on Saturday, December 14 at 11:20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 12:00noon. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if wished to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.
Allan Cartwright, Buskin Way, Coleraine

Elizabeth (Liz) Deane (née Faulkner), 63 Rosemount Gardens, Derry
The death has occurred of the late Elizabeth (Liz) Deane (née Faulkner), December 11 2024, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, after battling cancer, caring mother to Joseph and Ashlene, devoted grandmother of Coen and Liara, beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Faulkner and loving sister of Damien, Cecilia and the late Denise. She will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Elizabeth will be reposing at her home, 63 Rosemount Gardens on Thursday and Friday from 11.00am to 9.00pm. Funeral from there on Saturday, December 14 at 9.30am for 10o'clock Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Creggan. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please. The death has taken place of the late Margaret (Peggy) Ferguson (née Curran), December 10 2024, beloved wife of the late John, 125 Fergleen Park, loving mother of Seamus, Yvonne, Noel, Don, Moira and the late Margaret and Gerard, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and dear sister of Bernadette and the late Willie, Jimmy and Hugh. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Friday at 10.30am for 11o’clock Requiem Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Galliagh. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Wife of the late Seamus and beloved mother of James, Christopher, Dane and the late Simon. Daughter of the late Denis and Eithnè and loving sister of James, Barry, Niel and the late Julie. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11.00am in St. Joseph’s Church, Glenullin. Funeral from her home, 3 Lindsayville on Friday, December 13 at 1.15pm for 2.00pm Requiem Mass in Church of St. Patrick Ballinderry, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. The death has taken place of the late Hugh McLaughlin, December 11 2024, peacefully at his home, 15 Osprey Drive (formerly of Rose Cottage, Fountain Hill), beloved husband of Sally, loving father of Michael, Chas, Patrick, Danny and Carmela. A much loved father-in-law, particularly to the late Pat, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear brother of Chrissy, Joe, Phil and the late Patsy, Marie, Kathleen and Olive. His remains will be reposing in his son’s home, 26 Osprey Drive, from 2.00pm on Thursday, December 12. Funeral from there on Saturday at 11.30am for 12o'clock Requiem Mass in St Columb’s Church, Chapel Road. Interment afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore.
