A judge at Derry Magistrate's Court today asked if he should 'just sit here saying the same thing over and over again?'

District Judge Barney McElholm made his comments as he remanded Aoife O'Hagan (27) of Lawrence Hill in Derry in custody for breaching her bail.

A police officer told the court that police had been willing to give O'Hagan a chance but it was her third breach of bail on the current charges.

He said that the defendant had been given a final warning and was detected with a reading of 48mgs with 35 being the legal limit.

The officer said police had no confidence she would abide by any alcohol conditions.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that he was aware of the final warning to his client.

He said it was 'a low reading' and added that his client had been the victim of an assault.

Judge McElholm said that he had given O'Hagan a final warning and there had to be something behind such warnings.

He revoked O'Hagan's bail and remanded her in custody to appear again later this month.
