Derry man returned for trial on series of indecent image charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of indecent image charges.
Sean McIlroy (31) of Knoxhill Avenue in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today.
He faces a total of 16 charges, twelve of them are making indecent images of a child, three possessing images and one charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
All of the charges were said to have occurred on August 13, 2017.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
The defendant said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this.
McIlroy was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on April 17 and released on bail.
