Derry woman charged with assault and breaching bail conditions has bail revoked

Katie Quinn (30) of Waterloo Place in Derry was arrested on October 7 following a report of an assault on another woman
A woman has appeared at Derry Magistrates Court charged with assault and breaching her bail conditions.
Katie Quinn (30) of Waterloo Place in Derry was arrested on October 7 following a report of an assault on another woman.
When police arrived they noticed that Quinn appeared to be under the influence of something and, when in police custody, was drifting in and out of sleep.
The court heard that it was nineteen hours before Quinn was deemed fit for interview and she gave no comment answers to all questions.
Quinn was already on Crown Court bail for a number of drug offences and was due for sentencing on November 13.
Police objected to bail as they said Quinn had a 'clear addiction' and was a clear risk for reoffending.
A defense solicitor said that Quinn had an appointment with a doctor to address her addiction issues and asked the court to grant bail as there were no other appointments available before her sentencing.
Bail was revoked and she will appear at Derry Crown Court for sentencing on November 13.
