The area around has now fully reopened to traffic

Lunchtime traffic was disrupted for a short while today as a bus became stuck on one of the steepest streets in Derry.

The bus was driving down Fountain Hill when it became wedged on the bottom of the Waterside hill.

The area around Fountain Hill has now reopened to traffic.

Over recent years several large vehicles have got stuck near the junction between Fountain Hill and Spencer Road due to the sharp incline, despite warning signs in place on approach roads.

Earlier this year the Translink 212 Belfast to Derry coach required a crane to be hoisted free when it became wedged on Fountain Hill.
