Dungiven man to face trial on a series of dangerous driving charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of dangerous driving charges.

Ian William Reid (35) of Castlecroft Drive in Dungiven appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today.

He was charged with dangerous driving on Foyle Road on April 14 this year. 

He was also charged with dangerous driving on Craigavon Bridge on the same date. 

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Reid said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on September 29 and released on bail on condition he only travels as a passenger in a vehicle and notifies the police as to the vehicle.
