Fujitsu fun run in Derry raises more than £6,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Almost 100 volunteers from Fujitsu’s Derry office donned their running gear and took to Timber Quay for the company’s UK wide ‘5K My Way’ challenge to raise support for its charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Collectively, staff from Fujitsu’s Northern Ireland offices covered more than 600 miles and raised more than £6,000 for the leading cancer care charity which aims to improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer.
Speaking about the 5K My Way challenge, Fujitsu’s Principal Consultant Sinead Dillon said: “Fujitsu has really embraced the ethos of what Macmillan stands for – collaborative, respect and empathy - and we are proud to raise awareness for the exemplary services they offer to those affected by cancer.
"Our annual ‘5K My Way’ run is just one of a series of special fundraising events we hold in aid of the charity but is one of the most challenging!
"Thank you to all the team members who took part and the volunteers from Fujitsu and Macmillan who helped organise the events.”
As well as engaging in fundraising activity, Fujitsu is working with Macmillan to create a single technology platform that enables Macmillan to better recruit and mobilise volunteers - helping revolutionise how the charity engages with supporters.
