Man charged with a series of domestic abuse charges to face trial

A man has been returned to Derry Crown Court charged with a series of domestic abuse charges. 

Jason Curry, 45, of Mount Street in Derry appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. 

He was charged with false imprisonment of his partner, as well as assaulting and threatening to kill her on December 15 2022 and the offences are said to be aggravated by domestic abuse. 

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Curry said he did not wish to make any statement or to call any witnesses at this time. 

He was returned to Derry Crown Court on November 13 and remanded in custody.
