Man remanded in Derry Court over police vehicle damage

Defendant remanded in custody after police connect him to three offences on June 23
A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court today charged with assault and criminal damage.
Vincent Trainer (40) of Scally Park in Ballymena appeared charged with criminal damage to a PSNI vehicle on June 23.
He was also charged with an assault on the same date and criminal damage to another vehicle on the same date.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges and the court was told there would be no bail application.
Defence counsel Gavyn Cairns told the court his instructing solicitor had spoken to the defendant and there was no suitable address available at this time.
He told the court that he was hopeful that might change in the coming weeks and a bail application could be mounted.
Trainer was remanded in custody to appear again on July 8.
