Memorial events in Derry to mark the start of the First World War
A number of events will be held in Derry later this month to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.
On Saturday, September 27, a memorial event will be held at 2pm in the Guildhall.
The following day, a parade will set off from Spencer Road at 10.15am before making its way to the War Memorial at the Diamond.
The events are being organised on a cross community basis and people are encouraged to come along and remember the sacrifice of local people during the war.
The Derry events are part of a massive series of memorials worldwide this year to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the war.
