Use the Next > above to go through the gallery Burt Castle The castle itself was built in the 1500s and overlooks the Swilly and Inch Island. It was held by Cahir O'Doherty who pledged allegiance to the crown in order to break free of the rule of Red Hugh O'Donnell, then after being betrayed by the English started his own 'O'Dohertys Rebellion' with the burning of Derry in 1608 before being killed in the Battle of Kilmacrennan later that year

Use the Next > above to go through the gallery Milford Bakery It's a local landmark, and an eyesore, but for how much longer. Always said if I made my millions I'd love to buy it, knock it, and build a wee bar/hotel with a small marina, but sounds like someone has beat me to it with rumours that it's been recently sold. The bakery itself was built in 1936 and was a huge employer in the area for years but has been closed a long time. Hopefully the new owners do something interesting with it as it's location has huge potential there in sheltered Mulroy Bay

The 3000+ trees stretch 125m by 70m in a forest between Newtowncunningham and Killea and only came to light around five years ago
