Clogheravaddy Wind Farm has launched a fund to support projects related to education and sustainability in Donegal.

The Clogheravaddy Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, which is administered by non-profit ChangeX, will support individuals, community groups, schools and non-profits within 12 kilometres of the wind farm to start a new community project or develop an existing one.

The Clogheravaddy Wind Farm is owned by an alternative investment fund managed by Encavis Asset Management AG.

Applicants can apply for funding to start one of four proven ideas that have already had a positive impact in other communities across Ireland and internationally. Ideas on offer include ‘Open Orchard’, which supports communities to plant fruit trees in public spaces, and ‘Hour of AI’, an initiative that introduces the basics of artificial intelligence through hands-on, interactive activities.

Alternatively, local communities can apply for funding of up to €5,000 for their own project related to themes including, education and sustainability. The Clogheravaddy Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund has funded 38 local projects since 2023, positively impacting more than 4,260 people so far.

Applications for the 2026 fund will close on September 2nd.
