BOI branches open on Saturday across Donegal after service outage

An outage on Friday left affected customers unable to access Bank of Ireland's online and app services
Four Bank of Ireland branches in Donegal opened on Saturday morning to aid customers who were affected by an outage to online services on Friday.
Bank of Ireland branches in Ballybofey, Buncrana, Donegal Town and Letterkenny were among 91 nationwide that opened from 10am-2pm on Saturday.
Account holders were unable to access BOI’s online services. The Bank said their systems came back online on Friday evening and some branches opened late to assist those who were impacted.
A Bank of Ireland statement said: ”To provide enhanced advice and support to any customers who may need it we have taken a number of additional steps this weekend.
“We have increased the number of colleagues available to serve customers over the phone and will also open more than 90 of our branches.”
The outage left some employers unable to pay staff.
BOI apologised for the inconvenience customers experienced.
