Eamonn Kelly landed the Junior BRC title on Sunday when winning at the Rali Ceredigion in Aberystwyth, Wales.

Frosses man Eamonn Kelly sealed the Junior British Rally Championship crown on Sunday.

With two rounds of the championship still to come, Kelly secured the honours in Wales.

Driving a Fiesta Rally 4, Kelly won the junior section at Rali Ceredigion in Aberystwyth.

As his prize, Kelly will receive a supported drive in a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 in a World Rally Championship round in 2023.

“This feels class,” Kelly said at the finish line.

“I can’t quite believe it. I’m lost for words. It’s been such a dramatic day, so to be here so early on in the championship and taking the title is really special. We have put so much work into this, its such a team effort and it’s a credit to everyone around us, it would not have happened without them.”

Kelly, who was co-driven by Conor Mohan from Monaghan, was greeted by a big crowd of family and supporters as he crossed the line.

The Donegal man edged closer to the overall title when winning the Grampian Forest Rally in Scotland.

The Trackrod Rally in Yorkshire, round 6 of the Championship, takes place on September 23-24.
