A father and daughter came in the top two places at the Letterkenny Parkrun to complete a unique finish!

Eimear Gormley came in first place at the parkrun on Saturday, closely followed by her father and Letterkenny AC clubmate, Martin Gormley.

Woodland NS teacher Eimear completed the 5k run in 19 minutes and 48 seconds, and Martin, Director of Schools at Donegal ETB, finished with a time of 20 minutes and 42 seconds.

Letterkenny Parkrun is a community event that takes place every Saturday morning at St Conal's campus.

And it wasn’t the only success for the family over the weekend, as Eimear's cousin and Martin’s nephew, Mark English, ran a personal best to secure a sixth-place finish in the men’s 800m final at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest.

Mark was seventh at the bell and managed to come sixth in 1:42.78, beating his own PB of 1:42.97 to complete a memorable season, in which he was also crowned 800m champion at the European Athletics Championship in Birmingham in August.
