Latest figures shows 57 adults homeless in Donegal at end of July

Over the same period, 15 families across the north west region were in emergency accommodation, with 35 children among them
Over fifty people are homeless in Donegal, according to the latest report from the Department of Housing. The latest figures show that 57 people in Donegal, 52 in Sligo, and 11 in Leitrim accessed emergency accommodation throughout the week of July 24 to July 30.
Over the same period, 15 families across the north west region were in emergency accommodation, with 35 children among them.
Of the 120 adults homeless in the north west, 79% are male, 41% are female and the majority are aged between 25-44 years old.
The Department’s official homelessness statistics are published on a monthly basis and refer to the number of homeless persons accommodated in emergency accommodation funded and overseen by housing authorities during a specific count week, typically the last full week of the month. The reports are produced through the Pathway Accommodation & Support System (PASS), collated on a regional basis and compiled and published by the Department.
Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien says getting people into permanent housing is a goal of the Government.
