A Carrickfinn man who took to the roads every single day of 2024 has presented a cheque for over €5,000 to Cancer Flights from Donegal to Dublin following his fundraiser

Keith, who represents Rosses Athletic Club, and Bríd ‘Winnie’ Sweeney completed their final walk on New Year’s Eve at Casadh an tSúgáin.
Bríd, who is from Loughanure, set a target of €5,000 at the start of last year and as she continued to put in the steps with great support, that target swole. When the money was counted an amazing €23,675 was gathered, also for Donegal Cancer Flights and Services.
“Just a final thank you to everyone for their support the last year,” Keith posted. “I cannot believe the support from everyone my final amount raised for Donegal cancer flights is €5307.60, it is so much more than I was expecting so thank you to everyone who donated, liked or shared in any way it means so much and the money will now help so many people.”
Donegal Cancer Flights and Services is based in Ionad Naomh Padraig in Gweedore. The charity provides community support for cancer patients, with flights from Donegal Airport to Dublin, as well as ground transport to appointments in Galway, Roscommon, Sligo, Derry and Letterkenny. This charity also provides free counselling services, support and pamper days for cancer patients and their families.
