It was a highly successful outing at the Irish Open Jiu Jitsu tournament in Meath last weekend with members of Rilion Gracie Ireland taking over 30 individual titles to claim the overall championships title.

The competitors came from the academies in Letterkenny, Donegal Town and Omagh and claimed the national team titles in both the Gi (uniform) and no Gi categories.

Among the total winning medals were four children who were crowned Irish champions in some impressive displays.

In the history of the prestigious competition, this is one of the few times the overall national title has been awarded to a team outside Dublin and is its first time in the northwest.placeholder image
