The award-winning Moville St Patrick’s Day Festival is bringing three days of entertainment to the Foyle-side town

The Moville St Patrick’s Day Festival will see a range of events over three days as the town marks the national saint’s day.

On Sunday, March 17 the St Patrick's Day Parade starts at 2.30pm with music in the Square by The Keltic Knights from 2pm to 5pm. The parade starts at the usual time of 2.30pm. Motorised floats are asked to turn up at Glencrow by 2.15pm. Any participating float coming from the Carndonagh direction should turn right at Noone’s Bridge and park just below the Co-Op to reduce traffic congestion in the town and give them quicker access to the parade assembly point.

There will be bouncy castles in the square beside the big tree and there will also be street performers providing entertainment.

To celebrate this being the committee’s 35th year, a €1,000 cash prize is being offered for the best float with €500 for second place. The floats will be judged under the categories of Most Topical, Most Sustainable, Most Original, Most Traditional, Most Artistic and Most Humorous.

The committee is calling on local businesses, groups and organisations within the community to enter the parade.

Anyone looking to enter a float in the parade can contact the committee by email at [email protected].
