Eirgrid to bring Energy Citizens Roadshow to Leitrim

The free energy event will provide information about home energy efficiency upgrades and retrofitting grants in Carrick-on-Shannon

EirGrid, the developer and operator of the national electricity grid, will bring its Energy Citizens Roadshow to Carrick-on-Shannon on May 7th.

Led by EirGrid, this free event will bring together experts from SEAI (Ireland’s national sustainable energy authority), ESB Networks and Leitrim County Council to provide information about home energy efficiency upgrades, retrofitting grants, community micro-generation schemes and initiatives to ensure a more sustainable future for Leitrim.

The event will also give members of the public from across the region the opportunity to speak with industry leaders, ask questions, and share their thoughts about how we can proactively move towards achieving our energy ambitions.

The event will take place from 6.00pm – 8.30pm on Wednesday, May 7th in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon.

A host of local exhibitors will also be in attendance on the night, showcasing the latest details on home energy efficiency upgrades, retrofitting grants and information about community micro-generation schemes.

Speaking ahead of the Roadshow, Sinead Dooley, Head of Public Engagement with EirGrid, said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity for communities and businesses across Leitrim to learn how they can play an integral role in the decarbonisation of the electricity grid, while also learning more about the supports that are available at a local level.

“We also understand people’s concerns regarding energy consumption and the need for savings, so we are pleased to have exhibitors from a range of organisations and community energy groups. We look forward to hearing from industry leaders, community representatives and attendees to share knowledge in working towards achieving our energy goals.”
