Four months suspended sentence for driving without insurance

A man with three previous convictions for no insurance who was caught driving while suspended was given a four months prison sentence, suspended for two years, when he appeared at Carrick-on-Shannon District Court.
Jacek Ozdobinski, 4 Dristernan, Drumshanbo pleaded guilty to driving without insurance on December 16, 2021 at Townparks, Carrick-on-Shannon.
The court heard he has 47 previous convictions, three for no insurance and was disqualified for seven years in 2018.
He works in a hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon and was dropping his son off for work.
John Anderson, solicitor, said the father of four “made a very foolish decision on the day.” He said the defendant's wife was in court and would ensure that he didn't drive again.
Judge Vincent Deane, in sentencing the defendant, disqualified him for 10 years and warned him not to drive during his suspension.
