Status Yellow wind warning issued for Leitrim and surrounding counties

A Status Yellow wind warning is in place for all of Connacht and Munster as well as counties Donegal, Offaly, Laois, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow, Kildare and Dublin.

Met Éireann is warning of very strong west to northwest winds developing. Gusts of 90 to 110 km/h are expected and these will be stronger in coastal areas and over high ground. Wave overtopping in coastal areas.

The warning is valid until 8pm today.
