SETU Carlow to host Spring Open Day to help future students make 'informed decisions'
SETU offers over 140 CAO courses across a wide range of disciplines
A Spring Open Day will take place in SETU Carlow this weekend.
Prospective students and their families are invited to the Kilkenny Road Campus on Saturday, May 9th from 10am until 2pm.
Talking to lecturers and support staff, prospective students will have the chance to explore their chosen fields of study and receive information on fees, grants, and student supports.
Guided campus tours will showcase SETU’s state-of-the-art facilities, while current students share their experiences of university life.
SETU offers over 140 CAO courses across a wide range of disciplines, including business, engineering, architecture, sports and nursing, law, social sciences, arts and psychology, creative and performing arts, languages, tourism and hospitality, science, and computing.

New programme offerings include Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Home Economics, Family & Community Studies and the addition of Level 8 options in the Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture programmes.
These programmes will begin with their first intakes in September 2026.
"Our Spring Open Days reflect our ‘right student, right programme’ approach, ensuring that students make informed decisions about their future. We encourage prospective students to research their options thoroughly, ask the right questions, and choose a course that aligns with their career aspirations, strengths, and interests," Dr Derek O'Byrne, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Teaching & Learning, said.
The Spring Open Evening also allowed CAO applicants to involve their parents, guardians, and friends in their university decision-making process, helping them select the right path for their future.
