James Kavanagh and William Murray will be making a live podcast recording of ‘The Simpler Life?’ during the ‘Live, Work, Visit, Invest Kilkenny’ showcase which takes place on Saturday, November 7, in the stunning surroundings of the round tower at St Canice's Cathedral in Kilkenny City

Social media influencer and television presenter, James Kavanagh, and his food entrepreneur and artist partner, William Murray, are preparing to share their personal experience of rewarding and alternative ways to live in and work from Kilkenny as part of a not-to-be-missed free event in the heart of the medieval city.

The dynamic duo are planning to record their latest podcast at the free ‘Live, Work, Visit, Invest Kilkenny’ showcase at Kilkenny’s St Canice’s Cathedral on Saturday, November 7 and members of the public are invited to attend.

The couple left the bright lights of James’ native Dublin over two years ago for the tranquillity and simplicity of country living and working from the outskirts of gorgeous Graignamanagh in rural Kilkenny.

James said they’re looking forward to sharing their honest experiences with a captive audience gathering in Kilkenny for the free event showcasing the job and lifestyle opportunities in The Marble City they’re already revelling in. Employers, recruiters, estate agents and agencies supporting enterprise in Kilkenny will all be on hand for the free event.

“We would do it all over again in an absolute heartbeat. Everything fell into place for us,” James said ahead of the free event which runs from 10am right through to 1pm. #

Attendees will be able to chat with the duo ahead of a live podcast recording of ‘The Simpler Life?’ from the Cathedral and in between conversations with local employers and other exhibitors.

“Work hasn’t been impacted at all since we moved; hybrid working models mean you can now work from anywhere. Our fibre broadband is actually better than it was in Phisborough and I get to Dublin when I need to go there faster than friends get across London.

“We’ve the best of both worlds here and in our downtime, we love exploring the walking trails, the myriads of honesty boxes with fresh local produce and eggs and the farmers markets.

“My advice to anyone contemplating a move is to talk to people who have done it, and we’re only delighted to chat at the event to people contemplating it. They are the people who give you the real temperature. For us, it hasn’t been a struggle at all.”

Free tickets are still available on a first come, first served basis on Eventbrite.

The much-anticipated event offers attendees a unique opportunity to browse at their leisure, and connect directly with recruiting local businesses and discover how they can grow their career in The Marble City and surrounding towns and villages.

Attractive job opportunities across the finance, healthcare, engineering, agri-food and hospitality sectors will all be unveiled.

Attendees will get an exclusive opportunity to chat with employers and get the inside scoop on available job roles.

Business and fibre broadband representatives will be ready to answer questions and help members of the public find the perfect fit, based on their interests and experience.
