Loughboy man named best tram driver in Europe

Local man Ian Collins has been crowned best tram driver in Europe at the European tram driving championships in Oradea, Romania. 

After training as a soldier in the Kilkenny Barracks, Ian made the move to Dublin where he began his tram driving journey on the Luas. He was previously a tram driver in Melbourne, Australia, before moving back to Ireland.

Ian was successful in taking home gold in the tenth annual tram driving championship where he beat all 25 other teams from 19 different countries as part of the Irish team. Ireland came sixth overall in the competition.
