WATCH: Record-breaking Kilkenny candidate on this year's 'nerve-wrecking' campaign
Cllr Mary Hilda Cavanagh is Ireland's longest serving continually elected county councillor.
Although the first count is yet to commence in her Local Electoral Area of Castlecomer, her tallies are promising, and she looks likely to extend her record-breaking run as a county councillor.
Cavangh caught up with Kilkenny Live reporter Christopher Dunne this morning about why she decided to run again, how politics has changed over the years, and the big issues she encountered on the doorsteps.
According to Cllr Cavanagh, despite all the local elections she has contested up until now, the nerves never get any easier (see video above).
