Innes Cameron’s goal decided the tie.

Barrow manager Adam Murray praised his side’s “no-fear” attitude as they produced an FA Cup upset with a last-gasp 1-0 victory at Gillingham.

Innes Cameron’s goal in the second minute of stoppage time sent the National League outfit into the second round as they finished the stronger against their League Two hosts.

Murray said: “We had to be brave in our mindset and one thing these boys have got is no fear.

“We never treat a game like an away game – we play like we do at home and go after everybody.

“There’s a reason why we’ve got the best pressing stats through the leagues and that’s because we’ve got a mindset that we
are brave and we’ll go one-v-one if we have to, so credit to the players.

“Innes is just a goal-scorer. He’s somebody that, if you play to his strengths, he knows where the goal is and he’s always
in the right position.”

Ronan Hale sent a shot wide for Gillingham in the first half, with Barrow goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom making a big save to deny Robbie McKenzie.

Having just been denied by a brilliant save by Ollie Wright, Cameron snatched victory for Barrow when he diverted home Dan
Mooney’s shot from close range.

Gillingham boss Gareth Ainsworth said: “We should have put the game to bed in the first half.

“We had enough chances to win a couple of games in the first half and we have got to be more clinical – we have been in the league.

“We’re gutted we haven’t produced at home again and I think there was maybe a bit of pressure felt there, but fair play to
Barrow, they’ve come here and done a job.

“I said to the lads we had to be spot on with set-pieces and we weren’t.”
