Livingston thwart Stenhousemuir with Robbie Muirhead double

Scott Pittman opened the scoring for Livi at Ochilview Park.
Stenhousemuir missed the chance to go top of the William Hill Championship after Robbie Muirhead scored twice in Livingston’s 3-0 victory at Ochilview Park.
Livi went in front inside two minutes when Scott Pittman converted into the bottom-left corner from just inside the 18-yard box after Bruce Anderson pulled the ball back from the right.
Muirhead, the division’s leading scorer, doubled the lead four minutes before half-time, rising high to head home Stevie May’s inswinging corner from the left.
Stenhousemuir won seven and drew one of their opening eight league matches of the campaign following promotion from League One last term.
But their poor form continued with a fourth defeat in five winless games after forward Muirhead sealed back-to-back wins for Livi in the 49th minute by lashing home left-footed to claim his ninth league goal of the season.
Victory lifted Livingston one place to fifth on 20 points – three below second-placed Stenny and five behind leaders Partick Thistle.
