Tom Cursons bags brace as Boston beat beleaguered Scunthorpe

The Iron suffered a fifth consecutive defeat.
Tom Cursons struck twice as Boston defeated condemned relegation-threatened Scunthorpe to a fifth consecutive defeat.
Cursons scored both goals in the midweek win over Gateshead and repeated the feat for the second time in days.
The former Harrogate forward won and converted a 14th-minute penalty, then provided the finishing touch to Ken Aboh’s break just before the half-time whistle to make it seven for the season.
Aboh had an effort ruled out for offside soon after the restart but the flag stayed down when James Norwood pulled one back for the Iron. There was a suspicion of offside and handball in the build-up but the goal stood.
Substitute Lenell John-Lewis came close to restoring the two-goal lead for Paul Hurst’s side but Maison Campbell made the save.
